Hurricane Harvey Updates:

September 6, 9:00 am: 

We have learned of several families at The Center for Hearing and Speech who have been directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Some have lost everything. CHS is collecting gift cards to support families impacted by Harvey. We are accepting cards in all amounts to the following:

  • Gas stations – this is critical to ensure children can continue to travel to audiology appointment, speech therapy sessions, and school.
  • Grocery stores (HEB, Kroger, Randall’s, Whole Foods)
  • National Fast Food/Fast Casual chains
  • Walmart/Target
  • Costco/Sam’s Club
  • Home Depot/Lowes

Gift cards can be mailed to Renee Davis at 3636 W. Dallas St., Houston, TX 77019.

You can also choose to purchase e-gift cards and email them to Renee Davis – . If you send an e-card please email Renee with the store information and amount of the card to ensure it is received.

There are also opportunities for individuals and organizations to sponsor a specific child or family in need. For more information about this, please email Renee. 

August 30, 12:00 pm: The Center for Hearing and Speech will resume normal business operations tomorrow, Aug. 31. We urge our staff and clients to please use caution when traveling to the Center. 

All Audiology and Speech clients are being contacted by staff to reschedule appointments if necessary. If you have not been contacted and need to reschedule an appointment, please call us tomorrow at 713.523.3633. 

The Melinda Webb School will remain closed all week and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 5.
