Houston Via Colori is put on by a team of hardworking professionals from the The Center for Hearing and Speech, a local nonprofit for children with hearing loss. With our "Meet the Team" series, you can get to know the team that makes this festival possible.
Meet Via Colori's Event Manager, Kathlee Akers! Kathlee is in charge of the overall vision and planning of the Center's major fundraising events, including Via Colori. Kathlee coordinates all sponsorships, manages logistics for the VIP Lounge and recruits all of the entertainers that perform on Via Colori's three stages. Kathlee is an avid karaoke singer, skilled baker and provides comic relief when the team needs it the most.
In honor of this year's festival theme, 70 Years in Color, we're throwing it back to Kathlee's younger years. Check out her "then" and "now" photos and favorite childhood memories below.
