Ed Smith was a major figure in the history of The Center for Hearing and Speech, serving as the Center’s Chairman of the Board of Directors for more than 30 years. During his tenure, he rallied a community of supporters behind the Center, transforming it into a successful, well-respected organization. Without the efforts of Ed Smith, the Center would not be where it is today.

Ed was also a member of The Exchange Club of Houston and initiated a relationship between the two organizations. In 1965, The Exchange Club adopted the Center as one of its major beneficiaries. Among many initiatives, The Exchange Club supported the Center through its “Operation Cooperation” campaign, which raised a total of $3.3 million towards programs and services.

We are so grateful for Ed and The Exchange Club's support and service over many years!
