Thank you to all of the shutterbugs who submitted their photos in the 2011 Visualize Via Color Photo Contest. Winners will be announced on February 29, 2012. Good luck!

Twenty-four of the best images submitted will be selected by a panel of three independent judges who will choose the winning images based on concept, artistic quality, creativity and marketability. The judges are: Patrick Bertolino (Professional Real Estate Commercial Photographer), Katy Anderson (Professional/Artist Photographer) and Alexandre Rosa (Art Director, 002 Magazine).

Of these images, the contest will also designate 4 top honors:

• “Best in Show”– The overall best photograph based on concept, artistic quality and creativity
• “Best Macro”– Best example of macro photography, which refers to taking pictures of things at close range
• “Best Artist at Work”– Best example of a Houston Via Colori 2011 artist in the process of street painting
• “Best Spirit of the Festival”– Best example of an image that captures the overall spirit of the festival – “connecting the community to art while bringing awareness to The Center for Hearing and Speech”

All winners will be announced via press release, CHS website and a social media campaign beginning February 29, 2012.  CHS will present the photographers who win one of the top four honors with a wonderful prize package including a one-year Spacetaker membership; $25 gift card from Houston Camera Exchange, a FOTOFEST workshop next year during the biennial event and the top prize will receive a Nikon Coolpix S400 camera courtesy of Houston Camera Co-op!  Plus, all winning images will be featured in the 2013 Via Colori Calendar.

These 24 winning images will be printed, framed and exhibited at a kick-off reception in the fall of 2012 (at a time, date and location TBD). CHS will auction these framed photos as part of our fund-raising efforts at the 2012 festival.
