2016 "Visualize Via Colori" Photography Contest Official Rules, Terms and Conditions
The Houston Via Colori 2016 Photography Contest "Visualize Via Colori" is open to all amateur and professional photographers.
Submissions to the contest will be accepted from 12:01 a.m. Central Standard Time on Sunday, November 20, 2016, to 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Any photos submitted outside the stated period will not be considered for inclusion in the contest.
To be considered for inclusion in the contest, submit up to four separate photos using the entry form. Each entrant also must send an entry fee of $20 which includes up to four submissions no later than 11:59 p.m. January 31, 2017, or his or her entries will be disregarded. Photos submitted must be in JPEG format and be a high resolution file of the selected image with a minimum resolution of 1600×2000 ppi. Photos can be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or if the files are too large upload them to Dropbox or YouSendIt and email the link to Erica or provide a hard copy on a disc or USB drive and mail to Erica Perez at 3636 West Dallas St., Houston, TX 77019.
Early Bird Entrance: Anyone interested in receiving exclusive early bird entrance at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 must pre-pay their entry fees no later than Wednesday, November 16, 2016. With this payment you will receive early entrance one hour before the public to capture the art and festival without disruptions. You will also receive complimentary coffee and breakfast bites.
Submissions must be genuine photographic images that have already been corrected, cropped and otherwise altered to the appearance and size ratio that they will appear if selected for the contest. Images need not be originally digital, but they must be submitted in a digital format, meeting the specifications outlined above. All submitted photos must be originals. Entrants must affirm that photographs are their original work and that they are the holder of the copyright to, or have the right to copyright, any photos they submit, and that photographs submitted for consideration for the contest have not been shown in any prior public exhibition.
When submitting photos (up to 4), include this outline with information about your photographs to the attached photo submissions. File names should include the photographer’s name along with the title of the photo:
Photographers whose work is selected to appear in the contest will be notified by e-mail (or telephone if no email provided) no later than February 28, 2017. If a photographer whose work is selected cannot be contacted within a reasonable amount of time The Center for Hearing and Speech reserves the right to replace his or her work with that of another photographer.
By participating in the contest, entrants agree to be bound by the rules set forth herein, including all eligibility requirements and decisions of The Center for Hearing and Speech, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the contest. The Center for Hearing and Speech is not responsible for: lost, late, damaged or misdirected entries; computer or network malfunctions or errors; or disruptions related to Internet traffic, viruses, bugs or worms. The Center for Hearing and Speech reserves the right to disqualify any entries for any reason at its sole discretion.
By submitting an entry, entrants agree to hold The Center for Hearing and Speech, contest sponsors and all affiliated entities harmless from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind arising out of their participation in the contest. In addition, entrants agree that the above-mentioned entities are in no way responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the contest.
Photographers with winning images agree to allow the Center for Hearing and Speech to use these winning images only (as identified by CHS) in any and all future Via Colori promotional material (print, web, etc.) with proper photo credit and without the approval of the photographer.
