Guest Artist Genna Panzarella |
Genna Panzarella is a painter, a Maestra Madonnari chalk artist, and a teacher from Mill Valley, California. She works in many mediums from jewelry design to children’s book writing.
She has been a featured artist in several cities in the States including San Rafael, Santa Barbara, Phoenix, and Denver. She designs a new image for each piece starting with an exhisting painting, photo or sculpture, and then adding her own references to achieve a vision interesting to her at the time. Often her work includes references to her Lipizzan horses.
Genna has always been an avid world traveler, and recently found her street painting has been requested in Mexico, Canada, China, and in the Netherlands, and especially back to Italy, where it all began. In the international competitions in Grazie di Curtatone, near Mantua, Genna achieved unusual success. In only two years she was moved up from the lowest Semplici level to the top Maestri level. In 2002 she won top prize on the Maestri level and therefore the entire show!
