Artists chalked up the streets at the Haute Wheels Food Truck Festival on March 22nd.
The event, hosted at the Houston Community College SW Campus, brought together foodies to enjoy cuisine from 34 area chefs.
Two veteran Via Colori artists Alissa Trevino and Lee Ann Carrier along with their students from Jersey Village and Cypress Lakes High Schools, created a masterpiece inspired by the festival. Hundreds of families learned about Via Colori Street Painting Festival and The Center for Hearing and Speech, while sampling everything from sushi to cupcakes.
This November 22-23, 30 local high school students will create their own street painting through the free Apprendista student-artist program. Interested High Schools share chalk street painting in art classes. One student-artist from each school is then selected to leave their mark at the Via Colori Houston 2014 Festival. Interested schools can contact Jenni Garmon to register!
