Admissions & Enrollment
We are committed to determining the most impactful education for a child with hearing loss and it is our intention to ensure that the Melinda Webb School is a match for you and your child. Placement recommendations will be made based on a CHS Staff assessment review as well as availability.
The Center for Hearing and Speech does not discriminate in admissions or scholarship programs against any individual on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin.
Criteria for Enrollment
Ages 18 months to six years old
Primary deficit is hearing impairment or deafness
We maintain open enrollment throughout the year.
Our intake process into the Melinda Webb School begins in our Speech-Language Pathology Clinic with the completion of four speech therapy sessions. During your initial audiology consultation and speech-language evaluation, you will have the opportunity to visit with a representative from the education department who will give you an overview of the school program.
When your child begins therapy in the Speech Clinic, a representative from the school will then observe you and your child during one of the first four sessions. If we feel we may be able to meet your child’s needs, a classroom visit will be scheduled to assess possible placement. The Lead Teacher will then schedule a meeting to review the possibility of your child being a part of the Melinda Webb School.
