Cristina Zarate

Zárate received her first degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires and her second one from Universidad del Museo Social Argentino, both in Argentina, her home country. She worked in early intervention programs in clinics, hospitals and a private practice for almost 20 years in Buenos Aires. Since she moved to Houston, she has graduated from the Auditory Verbal Therapy internship program at The Center for Hearing and Speech. In 2007, She attended the intensive hands-on two week program at the Alabama Ear Institute for Auditory Verbal Therapy provided by experienced Cert-AVT Therapists. Zárate is fluent in both Spanish and English and she is helping to build the bilingual therapy program at CHS. She also provides therapy in Spanish for monolingual Spanish speaking families who have hearing impaired children. In addition, Zárate is a member of the CHS Cochlear Implant team.
