LaToya Martin
Teacher

Martin has been a teacher at The Center for Hearing and Speech since August 2008. She attended Lamar University and received a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders. Martin graduated from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas with a Master’s degree in Deaf Education and Hearing Sciences in 2008. During her graduate studies, she was an Associate Teacher at Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children. While teaching there, she gained experience working with deaf children at the early childhood and elementary level. Martin continues to gain knowledge in the field through a variety of training such as SKI*HI, The Alexander Graham Bell Association and The Moog Center for Deaf Education. At CHS, she is responsible for assessing student’s language level, setting goals and providing language, auditory and speech instruction.
