Kristi Ferguson, M.Ed, CED

Ferguson has been working with children who are hearing impaired since 2001 in both public and private settings. Her background includes teaching in both oral and total communication classrooms ranging in grades from preschool to high school. Ferguson also is the parent of a child who is deaf and utilizes a cochlear implant. Her personal experience as a parent brings a unique set of skills to our team. Additionally, Ferguson is a member of the CHS Cochlear Implant Team.
Ferguson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education from The University of Southern Mississippi, as well as a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education for students with disabilities from University of Houston-Clear Lake. She also is a certified Parent-Infant advisor. Ferguson has mentored fellow parents of children who are deaf and has been a speaker at several parent support groups. She also has given numerous professional presentations including the Statewide Conference for Deaf Educators. Ferguson is proficient in American Sign Language and has a thorough understanding of the many educational options for children who are deaf.
