Jody Castillo
Director of Education
The Director of Education for The Melinda Webb School, Castillo joined the staff of The Center for Hearing and Speech in 1989 as a teacher for the deaf and hearing impaired. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education and continued her graduate work in Deaf Education and Early Childhood Education. Castillo is certified in Deaf Education, Special Education Early Childhood, Early Childhood and Elementary Education by the Texas Education Agency. She also holds a professional certification through The Council on the Education of the Deaf. Castillo’s responsibilities at CHS include the operation and programming of the Melinda Webb School, United Way goal planning and implementation along with SACS-CASI accreditation. She looks out for the recruiting, hiring and supervising of the Melinda Webb School staff, along with the overall supervision of the classroom programs and activities. Castillo is a member of the Region 4 Deaf Education Advisory Committee with Supervisors of the Deaf in Texas, is a certified SKI*HI advisor, and serves as a member of CHS’ cochlear implant team.
